It is a trend in cosmetics for consumers to look for products that are more sustainable and natural for the skin. Everyone in the beauty world talks about natural, organic, vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics. But what is the difference between them anyway?
The inouïe explains the difference to you!
Natural cosmetics have ingredients that come exclusively from nature: plants, animals, minerals from the soil. Therefore, they cannot contain any ingredients of synthetic origin such as parabens, petroleum derivatives, artificial dyes or perfumes and silicones. However, being natural does not imply being organic.
An organic cosmetic has certified ingredients and manufacturing processes, that is, they have rigorous methods of production, extraction, purification and processing of ingredients. This means that they must ensure that their ingredients are free from pesticides or any other chemicals during their growth and extraction.
A vegan cosmetic is a cosmetic that is not tested on animals and does not contain any ingredients of animal origin, such as honey, lanolin or biotin. However, a vegan cosmetic does not mean to be an organic or natural cosmetic. A vegan cosmetic may have ingredients of synthetic origin.
A cruelty - free cosmetic is a cosmetic that is in no way tested on animals. Although in Europe it has been banned to test cosmetics on animals since 2013, there are many brands that, in order to sell in certain countries, are obliged to carry out tests on animals in order to enter the market.
At Inouïe we select more conscious brands that respect animals and the environment and therefore choose not to be present in markets that force them to test their products on animals!
